About

Hi, I am the author of Chic Vintage Brides Wedding Blog, my name is Amy and I am blissfully married to my gorgeous husband Martin. We live together, with Cheezburger our rather rolley polley but loveable adopted cat, in Napier, New Zealand  (Art Deco capital of the world and home of the fabulous Art Deco festival every February – how lucky am I)

I began Chic Vintage Brides in July 2011, as an outlet for two of my life long passions – you will be unsurprised to hear they are wedding dresses and all things vintage! Passions that only grew when I was planning my own perfectly gorgeous, vintage inspired, New Years Eve 2010 wedding.

When it came to looking for inspiration, I was lucky, in the UK there are wedding blogs and sites galore (almost an overwhelming number), here are my top 3:

3rd – English Wedding

2nd – Rock My Wedding

1st – Love My Dress – will always be my number ONE, for all the inspiration for my own wedding

(There is even a rather good wedding blog for men…….I Am Staggered – I am! But that’s actually the name of the site)

However, upon my move to the other side of the world in February, I was disappointed to find a distinct lack of antipodean sites and blogs (and even magazines) providing a similar inspiration service to wannabe-vintage-soon-to-be-brides in New Zealand and Australia….. but from this hole an idea and blog was born.

For me, Chic Vintage Brides is an expression of my more creative side, a reason (or excuse) for me to continue looking at Wedding dresses, a place to capture and share my vintage wedding discoveries – and a good way to while away the hours when my husband is fishing 🙂

For anyone who happens across my blog, my wish is that Chic Vintage Brides should entertain and inspire you, whether you be a future bride, happy newly wed or talented wedding industry professional.

I hope you enjoy it

Amy
